Privacy Policy
Last updated: 30 October 2026
This policy explains what personal data The Weekend Times (a product of KultrXP) collects, why, who it's shared with and how you can control it. It is written to follow the Information Technology Act, 2000 and its rules and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
What we collect
- Order details: your name, email address, WhatsApp number, delivery address and pincode, an optional gift note, what you bought and when.
- Payment details: handled by Razorpay. We receive a payment reference and status, never your full card or bank details.
- Consent records: which boxes you ticked, the exact wording you saw, when, and a one-way hashed (unreadable) version of your IP address.
- Website usage: pages visited, device and browser type and how you navigate, collected through Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity. Clarity masks what you type into forms.
Why we use it
| Purpose | Basis |
|---|---|
| Process, print, ship and support your order; create and run your account | Your order and consent at checkout |
| Order and delivery updates on WhatsApp | Your consent at checkout (the Terms & Privacy checkbox) |
| Communication over WhatsApp and email (new editions, offers) | Your separate consent (the communication checkbox). Never a condition of buying |
| Improving the website and measuring what works | Analytics, in aggregate |
| Tax, accounting and legal obligations | Legal requirement |
Who we share it with
We don't sell your data. We share only what each service needs to do its job:
- Razorpay (payments), Supabase (database and accounts), Vercel (website hosting).
- WhatsApp messaging through AiSensy and Meta (order updates and, if you opted in, other communication).
- Our courier and postal partners (name, phone, address for delivery).
- Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity (website usage).
- An email delivery provider for login codes and account emails, and an internal notification tool that alerts our team to new orders.
- Authorities, where required by law.
How long we keep it
Order and invoice records: as long as tax law requires (currently up to 8 years). Account details: while your account is active, and deleted on request unless we must keep them by law. Consent records: as long as needed to show what you agreed to. Analytics: as set by the analytics provider (Google Analytics: 14 months).
Your rights and choices
- Stop communication: reply STOP on WhatsApp, use the unsubscribe link in any email, or untick it in My Account → WhatsApp. Order updates continue.
- Access, correct or update your details in My Account, or ask us.
- Erase your data or withdraw consent: email or WhatsApp us. We'll confirm within 7 days, keeping only what the law requires.
- Grievances: contact our grievance officer (below). You can also approach the Data Protection Board of India.
Children
The Weekend Times is for all ages, but accounts and orders are for adults (18+). If you're under 18, ask a parent or guardian to order for you.
Cookies and similar tools
We use cookies and local storage to keep you logged in, remember your checkout details during a visit, and measure site usage (Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity). You can block cookies in your browser; login and checkout may then not work properly.
Security
Data is stored with access controls so customers can see only their own records. Payment data never touches our servers.
